How to request a refund for a physical item

Lovecraftify is a marketplace where each seller manages their own physical products, shipping, and return policies. If you need a refund for a physical (handmade or print-on-demand) item, follow the steps below to ensure a smooth resolution.

1. Contact the seller first

If there is an issue with a physical item you received, your first step should always be to contact the seller directly.

  1. Go to the seller’s store page or the product page
  2. Click the Get Support button
  3. Explain the issue clearly (include photos if needed)

Many issues—such as damaged items, missing parts, or shipping problems—can often be resolved directly with the seller.

2. Review the seller’s return policy

Each seller on Lovecraftify sets their own return and refund policy for physical items. Before requesting a refund, make sure to review:

  • Return timeframes
  • Condition requirements
  • Who covers return shipping costs
Note: Some sellers may offer exchanges or partial refunds instead of full refunds, depending on the situation.

3. Customized or personalized items

Important: Customized or personalized physical items are non-refundable unless the item arrives damaged or significantly different from what was approved.

Because these items are made specifically for you, refunds are not available once production begins. Buyers are responsible for carefully reviewing:

  • Design previews or mockups
  • Personalization details (names, dates, colors, sizes)
  • Final approval before the seller ships the item

4. If the seller does not respond or resolve the issue

If the seller does not respond within a reasonable time or cannot resolve the issue, you may contact Lovecraftify Support for assistance.

  • Provide your order number
  • Include screenshots or photos
  • Explain what steps you have already taken with the seller

The Lovecraftify team will review the case and may contact the seller on your behalf.

5. Refund decisions

Refund outcomes depend on the seller’s policy and the specifics of the case. Lovecraftify may issue a refund if:

  • The item is damaged or defective
  • The item significantly differs from the listing description
  • The seller fails to fulfill the order or provide a resolution
