Managing custom order requests.
Managing Custom Order Requests
Lovecraftify allows sellers to offer personalized and custom-made products, giving buyers the ability to request unique designs tailored to their needs. This guide explains how custom orders work and how both buyers and sellers should manage them.
1. What is a Custom or Personalized Order?
A custom or personalized order is any product that is modified or created specifically for a buyer based on their request.
- Personalized text (names, dates, quotes)
- Custom colors, sizes, or materials
- Design adjustments or made-to-order items
- Products created using buyer-provided images or references
2. How Buyers Submit Custom Requests
On Lovecraftify, buyers can submit customization details directly from the product page.
- Enter instructions in the Personalization / Custom Request field
- Upload images or reference files (if enabled by the seller)
- Add notes before adding the product to the cart
This ensures the seller receives all necessary information at the time of purchase.
3. Uploading Images & Reference Files
Buyers may upload images to help sellers understand their request more clearly.
- Reference photos or sketches
- Logos, artwork, or inspiration images
- Clear examples of style, color, or layout
4. Seller Responsibilities
Sellers offering custom or personalized products should:
- Clearly state what can and cannot be customized in the listing
- Review buyer instructions and uploaded files carefully
- Contact the buyer if details are unclear or incomplete
- Confirm timelines for production and delivery
5. Buyer Responsibilities
Buyers placing custom orders are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete customization details
- Uploading clear, high-quality reference images if required
- Reviewing the listing description and shop policies
- Responding promptly if the seller asks for clarification
6. Communication & Approval
Sellers may contact buyers through Lovecraftify’s messaging system to:
- Confirm customization details
- Request additional information or images
- Share previews or mockups (optional)
Buyers should review and approve any confirmations before production continues.
7. Returns, Refunds & Disputes
Custom and personalized orders are typically non-refundable, unless the item is defective or does not match the agreed specifications.
- Digital custom files follow digital product policies
- Physical custom items follow the seller’s return policy
- Disputes are reviewed based on submitted instructions and communication
8. Best Practices for Sellers
- Use clear personalization fields
- Set realistic production times
- Save buyer instructions and files for reference
- Communicate early to avoid misunderstandings
