How to set up your Shipping Profiles?

How to set up your Shipping Profiles

Shipping Profiles help you control where you ship, which delivery methods you offer, and how shipping costs are calculated for your physical products (Handmade/POD).

Before you start

Shipping on Lovecraftify is configured by shipping zones (regions you ship to) and shipping methods (Flat Rate / Free Shipping / Local Pickup).

Note: Digital products don’t require shipping settings. Shipping Profiles only apply to physical items.

Step 1: Open Shipping settings

  • Go to your Seller Dashboard
  • Navigate to Settings → Shipping
  • Click “Click here to add shipping policies” (or edit an existing profile)
Tip: If buyers see “No shipping methods available for your location”, it usually means their country/region isn’t included in your zones (or your zone has no active shipping method).

Step 2: Create shipping zones

A shipping zone is a geographic region where certain shipping methods are offered. Create zones based on where you can ship.

Create a zone

  • Click Add Shipping Zone
  • Set a clear Zone Name (e.g. “United States – Mainland”, “Europe”, “Worldwide”)
  • Select the countries/regions included in this zone
  • (Optional) Restrict to specific ZIP/Postal codes
  • Click Save Changes
Recommended: Create a “Locations not covered” / “Everywhere else” zone if you want to control what happens when buyers are outside your main shipping regions.

Step 3: Add shipping methods

After creating a zone, add at least one shipping method so customers can check out.

Add a method

  • Open the zone you want to configure
  • Scroll to Shipping Methods
  • Click Add Shipping Method
  • Choose one:
    • Flat Rate — fixed cost for shipping
    • Free Shipping — $0 shipping cost
    • Local Pickup — buyer picks up locally

Configure method details (Flat Rate example)

  • Method Title (e.g. “Global Standard Shipping (7–15 Business Days)”)
  • Cost (base shipping price)
  • Tax Status (usually “None” unless required)
  • Description (optional notes for buyers)
Important: If the cost is set incorrectly (or the method is not active), buyers may not see any shipping options at checkout.

Step 4: Shipping Class Costs (optional)

If you sell items with different sizes/weights, you can add extra costs by shipping class (e.g. Light / Standard / Medium / Heavy / Extra heavy).

  • Open your shipping method (Edit)
  • Find Shipping Class Cost
  • Enter additional costs for each class (optional)
  • Save changes
How it works: Shipping class costs are added on top of the base cost when a product is assigned to that shipping class.

Step 5: Test your shipping setup

  • Open one of your physical product pages
  • Use Select Delivery Location and choose a country/city/postcode
  • Confirm that your shipping methods appear with correct prices
  • Do a quick test checkout (optional) to confirm it works end-to-end
Tip: Test at least 2 locations: one inside your main zone and one outside (to ensure your fallback zone behaves as expected).

Common issues & quick fixes

“No shipping methods available for your location”

  • The buyer’s location is not included in any zone you configured
  • The zone exists but has no shipping methods
  • The shipping method is inactive or not saved

Shipping cost looks wrong

  • Re-check your Flat Rate cost and any Shipping Class Costs
  • Confirm your product is assigned to the intended shipping class (if used)
