How to Set Up Table Rate Shipping on Lovecraftify

1What is Table Rate Shipping?

Table Rate Shipping lets you build shipping rules based on conditions such as:

  • Number of items in an order
  • Product shipping class (Light, Heavy, Oversized, etc.)
  • Quantity ranges (e.g., 1 item, 2–3 items, 4+ items)

During checkout, the system checks the cart and applies the matching rule automatically.

2Where to Configure It

  1. Go to Vendor Dashboard
  2. Open Settings → Shipping
  3. Select (or create) a Shipping Zone
  4. Click Add Shipping Method → Table Rate
Tip: Set up your zones first (e.g., US, Canada, EU) so your table rates stay clean and easy to manage.

3General Settings (Recommended)

Calculation Type

Choose Calculated rates per item — this makes the shipping cost scale correctly with item quantity.

Handling Fee Per Item (Optional)

Add an extra fee per item for packaging/processing. Leave empty if you don’t need it.

Minimum / Maximum Cost Per Item (Optional)

Use these to cap the shipping cost per item so it doesn’t become too low or too high.

4Understanding the Table Rates

Each row is a shipping rule. Rules are evaluated from top to bottom.

Field What it does
Shipping Class Select which product class the rule applies to (e.g., Light Item).
Condition Choose Item count to apply based on the number of items.
Min – Max Sets the quantity range for this rule.
Row Cost A fixed fee applied once per order.
Item Cost A fee applied per item (recommended).
Break Important: stops checking further rules after this one matches. Enable this to prevent multiple rules stacking.
Best practice: Use Item Cost as your primary fee, and keep Row Cost minimal unless you truly need a base charge.

5Example: Light Item Rules

A simple structure that rewards customers for buying more (lower shipping per item):

Rule 1 — Single item

  • Shipping Class: Light Item
  • Condition: Item count
  • Min – Max: 1 – 1
  • Item Cost: $5
  • Break: Enabled

Rule 2 — 2–3 items

  • Shipping Class: Light Item
  • Condition: Item count
  • Min – Max: 2 – 3
  • Item Cost: $4
  • Break: Enabled

Rule 3 — 4+ items

  • Shipping Class: Light Item
  • Condition: Item count
  • Min – Max: 4 – (leave Max empty)
  • Item Cost: $3
  • Break: Enabled

Result: customers who buy more items pay less shipping per item, while you stay protected on cost.

6Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • ❌ Forgetting to enable Break (rules can stack and overcharge)
  • ❌ Product shipping class doesn’t match the rule’s shipping class
  • ❌ Missing a rule that covers quantity ≥ 1
  • ❌ Using too many fees at once (Row Cost + Item Cost + Handling)

7Final Checklist

  • Save changes, then test by adding items to your cart.
  • Try different quantities (1, 2–3, 4+) to confirm the correct rule triggers.
  • Verify each product has the correct Shipping Class assigned.

Correct shipping setup reduces disputes and improves customer trust at checkout.

1Table Rate Shipping là gì?

Table Rate Shipping cho phép bạn tạo các “quy tắc” tính phí ship dựa trên điều kiện như:

  • Số lượng sản phẩm trong đơn
  • Shipping class của sản phẩm (Light, Heavy, Oversized…)
  • Khoảng số lượng (ví dụ: 1 sản phẩm, 2–3 sản phẩm, 4+ sản phẩm)

Khi khách checkout, hệ thống sẽ tự động dò giỏ hàng và áp dụng quy tắc phù hợp.

2Cấu hình ở đâu?

  1. Vào Vendor Dashboard
  2. Chọn Settings → Shipping
  3. Chọn (hoặc tạo) Shipping Zone

4Hiểu đúng phần Table Rates

Mỗi dòng là một quy tắc tính phí. Hệ thống sẽ xét từ trên xuống dưới.

Trường Ý nghĩa
Shipping Class Chọn class áp dụng cho rule (ví dụ: Light Item).
Condition Chọn Item count để áp dụng theo số lượng sản phẩm.
Min – Max Khoảng số lượng mà rule có hiệu lực.
Row Cost Phí cố định, cộng 1 lần cho cả đơn.
Item Cost Phí tính theo từng sản phẩm (khuyến nghị).
Break Quan trọng: Khi rule khớp, hệ thống dừng và không xét rule phía dưới. Nên bật để tránh cộng chồng nhiều rule.
Best practice: Ưu tiên dùng Item Cost làm phí chính; chỉ dùng Row Cost khi thật sự cần phí nền.

5Ví dụ: Rule cho Light Item

Cấu trúc đơn giản giúp khách mua nhiều sẽ được giảm phí ship mỗi item:

Rule 1 — 1 sản phẩm

  • Shipping Class: Light Item
  • Condition: Item count
  • Min – Max: 1 – 1
  • Item Cost: $5
  • Break: Bật

Rule 2 — 2–3 sản phẩm

  • Shipping Class: Light Item
  • Condition: Item count
  • Min – Max: 2 – 3
  • Item Cost: $4

Rule 3 — 4+ sản phẩm

  • Shipping Class: Light Item
  • Condition: Item count
  • Min – Max: 4 – (để trống Max)

Kết quả: khách mua càng nhiều, phí ship/1 item càng giảm, nhưng bạn vẫn kiểm soát được chi phí.

6Lỗi thường gặp

  • ❌ Quên bật Break (dễ bị cộng chồng rule và tính phí quá cao)
  • ❌ Shipping class của sản phẩm không khớp với rule
  • ❌ Không có rule bao phủ số lượng ≥ 1
  • ❌ Dùng quá nhiều loại phí cùng lúc (Row Cost + Item Cost + Handling)

7Checklist trước khi đăng bán

  • Lưu cài đặt và test bằng cách thêm sản phẩm vào giỏ.
  • Thử nhiều mức số lượng (1, 2–3, 4+) để chắc rule chạy đúng.
  • Kiểm tra từng sản phẩm đã gán đúng Shipping Class.
