Updating tracking information for buyers

Providing accurate tracking information helps buyers follow their orders and builds trust on Lovecraftify. This guide explains when and how sellers should update tracking details for physical orders.

Quick tip: Always add tracking as soon as an order ships. Buyers are automatically notified when tracking is updated.

When tracking information is required

Tracking information should be added for all physical products, including handmade and print-on-demand (POD) items.

  • After the item has been shipped
  • Within your stated processing/handling time
  • Using the correct carrier and tracking number
Digital products do not require shipping or tracking information.

How to add or update tracking

To update tracking information for an order:

  1. Go to Vendor Dashboard → Orders
  2. Select the order you’ve shipped
  3. Click Add / Update Tracking
  4. Choose the shipping carrier
  5. Enter the tracking number exactly as provided
  6. Save the update

Once saved, the buyer will be notified automatically.

Best practices for sellers

  • Double-check the tracking number before submitting
  • Use carriers that provide reliable tracking
  • Ship orders on time according to your listing
  • Keep proof of shipment and receipts
Accurate tracking reduces disputes, refund requests, and negative reviews.

If tracking isn’t available

Some shipping methods may not provide tracking. If this applies:

  • Clearly state this in your product listing
  • Inform the buyer before shipping
  • Mark the order as shipped with a note if allowed
Sellers remain responsible for delivery even when tracking is unavailable.

  • Confirm the tracking number and carrier
